From a 30,000 foot view, I use the latest technology to assess different neuromuscular strength qualities relevant to your condition throughout the rehab experience.

With respect to tissue healing timeframes, I have specific objective criteria that help guide our progressions in the most efficient manner. To the left is an example of a HS football player 12-weeks post ACLR. His quadriceps muscle symmetry is 70%, which is a key milestone during early rehab where we can likely now tolerate a running progression and start to gradually introduce more intense plyometric work.

With respect to tissue healing timeframes, I have specific objective criteria that help guide our progressions in an efficient manner, with clear expectations from the start. Below is an example of a HS football player following an ACL reconstruction with a visual of how we will restore symmetry as well as compare to normative data for your age/sex for a variety of performance tests.

Here is an example of an ultra-runner struggling with achilles tendinopathy and had pain at both slow and fast speeds. At the initial assessment he demonstrated calf strength of 2.2x bodyweight and progressed to 2.6x bodyweight in 8-weeks with pain only at fast speeds. For runners, we likely need greater than 3.0x bodyweight due to the high demands during running and closer to 4.0x bodyweight for elite sprinters.

Here is an example of an endurance runner struggling with achilles tendinopathy. Through isolated calf-strength testing, we determined their strength values were far below where they should be when compared to other running athletes. You'll see pre-post testing to ensure our interventions are helping you progress in the right direction.

Not all strength is created equal. Just because an individual can produce a high amount of force, doesn't mean they can produce it FAST; which is integral to elite performance. Often times in rehab, these higher order strength qualities (explosive and reactive) are limited for many years, even in professional athletics. We help track and monitor these qualities until to ensure a success rehab.
